<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Not "harmless" at all. In the SouthEast they EAT lawns. BIG time. A sizeable portion of your lawn can turn into basically a dirt patch! Which is just them doing their bug thing trying to get on in life I know, but personally I would consider them killing my lawn (if I were to let them get the chance) very "harmful" considering what sod costs. It's like the back end of a cricket was joined with the front end of a termite....and lobster claws added just for laughs.
These get to be 2 to 2 and 1/2 inches long.
